July 30th- August 5th

Week of July 30- August 5, 2007: Busy, Busy Bees
Written by Annaliese

This past week feels like it has been exhausting- although I think it was mostly the weekend that did us in!

Monday, July 30th- Chris was sent home from work sick. Normally having a little cold wouldn't be such a big deal, but one of his co-workers was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and has started chemo, so they have all been pretty careful about doing their best not got expose her to any infections. Luckily he could work from home and did that until Wednesday. Corrine spent the evening up at G&G Priamos' house so Chris & I ordered pizza and watched a movie together. A nice relaxing evening.

Tuesday, July 31st- I had a doctor's appointment. Just 5 more weeks and I am feeling more ready to have the baby and less ready as far as our house goes! Oh well- I'm sure it will all work out, somehow it always does.

Thursday, August 2rd- we started getting ready for the big move we were making with our servers. We recently were told that our speeds that we were getting were not fast enough for commercial IP addresses, which we need considering we run those servers for our business. Our options were to try Comcast Business package or put a T1 line into our house (which would have been ridiculously expensive). We opted for what we could afford- Comcast and are so glad we did. We have BETTER speeds than a T1 line and it's 1/3 of the cost! But we had to make the big switch meaning all our servers would go down for a couple days.

So that night Chris jumped in and dismantled one desk we were getting rid of, set up the new shelving for our servers and made sure everything was ready to go.

Friday, August 3rd- Late that night we actually made the big switch. We also rearranged the office so we could utilize our space better- this meant moving EVERYTHING of course- desk, file cabinets, laser printer and moving in a large cabinet from Mom & Dad. Being pregnant makes me feel like such a wimp! Luckily I have a strong husband who is willing to do the heavy lifting and moving. The office looks great and everything went fairly smooth with the servers.

Saturday, August 4th- was a busy day as well. Chris spent a good portion of the day working on making sure the servers were coming back online and that our connections were solid. He also moved the old freezer out and we got everything into the new freezer- I couldn't believe all the empty space we had in it! It's so much bigger than our old one! I worked on Corrine's room which is becoming a guest room/play room as she doesn't like to sleep that far away from us. And we did some work on getting the baby area/Corrine's sleeping area organized upstairs.

I found out that my good friend and old roommate from Fresno, Amy (Kland) Neilsen had her baby 3 weeks early- on her birthday! Pretty exciting day for them, but it made me realize how UNready we are for the baby to come! We don't even have a place for him to sleep yet!

Sunday, August 5th- Corrine was clingy and didn't want to go to nursery, but finally conceeded. I think she realizes that there's a lot of change coming with the baby and isn't quite sure how to express how she's feeling. We had a wonderful Relief Society lesson on the Word of Wisdom. After church we tried to put our tornado of a house back together. We at least got everything moved into the rooms where it belongs- now it's just a matter of getting it all put away.

We also gave away the large desk that was in our office and some misc smaller pieces of furniture. We figured since they were given to us and we've been given some wonderful things to replace them we may as well pass along the good will. Hopefully by the end of the week our old freezer and a smaller desk will be gone as well. More room in the garage! Yay!

I mostly worked upstairs all afternoon getting the crib & changing table put together and set up, moving furniture around and boxing up stuff we are no longer using. Hopefully by the end of today it will actually look like a childs room, not a large storage area!

All our servers came back online- which is great and means all our customers had their sites up for start of business today. After checking on the computers Chris did some yardwork and played with Corrine on the trampoline- she loves it! We hope the novelty doesn't wear off too soon as it keeps her entertained for long periods of time!

We've heard a few times from Mom & Dad Allen in South Africa picking up Tanner. It sounds like they are having a great trip- can't wait to hear all the details and see the pictures. And we're VERY excited about having Tanner & McKay close to us this fall!

I need to get back to getting more done! Hope all of you had a wonderful week as well! Love you lots!
